Cancel your service, get rewards! duh.

Tips/Tricks

All company's have that department that will try to do anything to keep you from canceling your service. We've all dealt with them when we've been mad, but there's nothing like dealing with them when you really don't want to cancel your service.

At the cell phone provider I worked with, we would offer some pretty good bonuses assuming you had been with us for 6 months. If you wanted to cancel, we would offer you practically free phones (I can't say any prices), and rolling bonuses. The rolling bonuses would give you up to a $40 bonus every month you topped up for up to 6 months.

So if you have that company, and your not really liking the service, give them a call and get something back from em.

A couple weeks ago I called T-Mobile and acted like I wanted to cancel my service. My contract was going to be up in 2 weeks and I had been with them for 6 years. I also have a family plan with 4 lines. With the 2 year renewal price, the phone I wanted would have come to about $150. I talked to their cancellation department and they dropped the price to $100, and offered me free overnight shipping. I insisted on canceling and they offered me an additional $50 off the phone and an additional $50 off any phones for the other lines. So by talking to cancellations, I was able to save $100 off my phone WITH the 1 year renewal price, and an additional $150 for my other lines taken off my bill, making my phone more than free.
