Get free ringtones for your Virgin Mobile phone

Tips/Tricks

There are two ways to get free ringtones for your virgin mobile phone. The most common method for getting free ring tones is to sign up for a web browsing plan. Then go to say Limewire and download some ringtones. Upload the ringtones to putfile and write down the URL to the file. After you upload the file, type the URL into your phone and you will be able to save the ringtone to your virgin mobile cell phone.

Or, if you really need lots and lots of long free ringers, you could get a Slider Sonic and with the data cable you could transfer over as many ringtones as you want at no cost.

Every once in awhile virgin mobile will release a free ringtone to customers that they can claim with a promo code. If you have one of these codes, just go to VirginXL / VirginXtras and choose the ringtone, enter your promo, and enjoy your no cost ringtone.

Any chance you could elaborate a bit on this one? For that first method, what format should I be looking for? I have a Strobe/Switch_Back, and I'm not having much luck finding info about the file format needed here...

WOW!! that's an awesome idea! The putfile site was not accepting my verification code, so i did the next best thing...
All you have to do is upload the file to any website and remember the address, and it will work fine! worked for me with 2 ringtones so far. Also, I made and downloaded ringtones from phonzoo.com and then uploaded them to my website and my phone actually received the files.
I also got this idea from funtonia.com, where they have you download a test file to see if your phone works with the service. After downloading that test file successfully, and then reading this site, I was able to give myself free ringtones. Thanks man!

So to recap:
1. goto www.phonezoo.com and make or find a ringtone
2. download the ringtone to your computer.
3. upload it to your site
4. use mobile web browsing to access and download ringtone
5. Enjoy!
