Free Virgin Mobile Ringtone
GeneralVirgin mobile is currently sending out some promo codes that select customers will be able to use to claim some free ringtones. The ringtone codes are being sent to customers who have downloaded only a couple ringtones in an effort to get them to start downloading more. I'm not sure of the exact requirements, just that within the next week everyone who is going to get the code will have received it.
To use the free virgin mobile ringtone code, just go to VirginXtras/VirginXL and select "redeem a code"..
The code you receive is only good once, and you have to have been sent the code for it to work for you. Trying to use someone elses code will not get you the ringtones.

The question you posted was on their FAQ under Mobile Web, and OF COURSE, while you are surfing the web on your phone, you can't download files. It's for your protection. You wouldn't want a virus on your phone, would you? You wouldn't want someone to steal your contacts on your phone would you?
You are talking about something completely different. You are talking about downloading files straight from the open internet and that's just ridiculous. The Mobile Web feature is for looking up information and for VIEWING webpages, not for downloading stuff. That's why it's listed as "Surf The Web".
It says "Get the latest headlines and hot links from Virgin Mobile, do a Google search, or type in your own url and surf away."
Like I said, if you want stuff like ringtones, wallpapers, games, screensavers, applications, and more, it's ALL under the VirginXtras on your phone, and on their page, www.virginmobileusa.com.
If you TRULY want to download internet files on your phone, try getting a Blackberry or something like that. Hell, I don't even think Blackberries allow you to download files. Phones don't have Anti-Virus software on them or Anti-Hacking software on them, so why would you want to download files from the internet away.

VM does not ban d/l's to protect us, they do it to take our money because we are forced to buy their crappy, overpriced, downloads. They should at least have a higher cost plan that allowes d/l's. And , do you by any chance know how much one can save by just making your own ringtones or downloading thousands of free (and might i add much better than VM's games) games, wallpapers, and other things? Take sites like gamejump.com and twilightwap.com for example.
