Free Virgin Mobile Ringtones
GeneralIf your looking for virgin mobile ringtones, I'm sure you already know you can get free ringtones and wallpapers, but how exactly do you do it?
To get free ringtones and wallpapers (without using a promo code or a special promotion), you need to either have a data cord for your phone, or get on a web browsing plan. The web browsing plans are only about $5 a month or so.
Once you have a web browsing plan on your phone, download some ringtones (kazaa, bittorrent, torrents, etc) or make your own using software. Take the ringtones and upload them to putfile.com, and then take the URL that putfile gives you, and enter that URL into your phones web browser.
After entering the URL to the ring tone or wallpaper, your phone will automatically save the ringtone after you confirm that it is okay.
The url you get will most likely be something like http://www.putfile.com/songname.midi. You must type the exact location of the ringtone in order for it to download.
Do not use those free ringtone sites you see on google as they are a rip off. Your better off just uploading your own. The first thing they ask for is your phone number, and once they have it and you agree to their terms, your theirs, and they will not hesitate to charge you a LOT of money.

That is a BIG drawback to VM handsets. There is no sim card or data port & no way to dump contacts or ringtones from an old phone to a replacement phone or back them up on a PC.

....but what if the old phone does not power up or display Contacts any more???

i guess thats their big downside. Though vmobile is great with contracts and plans, they suck balls with the ringtone deal. When people say trype in the url, you need to understand that vmobile phones DO NOT have that feature. Theres like a yahoo search bar. thats it. you arent allowed to type in the url most likely for that reason. Unless theres a website that has a url bar in it, theres no other way to do it. If anyone knows a website with a url bar in it, or knows how to make one, please post a link. If word gets out, all vmobile users could use that site to get freebies!

Yeah, I get forbidden error too. And yes, you can type URLs and you always have been able to. They just hid the screen to do it.

Bluetooth pairing instructions are on page 46-47 of the manual that came with the phone. You will also have to prepare the Bluetooth wireless headset for pairing as described in the headset’s user guide.

To shrink an mp3 correctly first save as a wave file then setup mp3 encoder, save as again back to mp3. I know this works I downloaded 5 mp3's just last night. They automatically save into your ringers so they can be used as anything ringers/alerts/txt etc. Also I used fileden.com to upload my files to.

Once installed, run it, click on browse, point to the directory where your pictures are, click on preview, select your picture, then click on "resize picture" on top, enter your phone's screen resolution (can be found on VM's website just look at your phone usually 128x128 or 128x160), click ok, right click, then select "Save Image" if you want to save over the file or "Save Image as" to keep the original and save the wallpaper as a seperate file.
Hope all that helps I'm sure you guys can figure it out from here. Sorry for making two posts I get a bit crazy with the cut and paste.
