Free Virgin Mobile Ringtones
If your looking for virgin mobile ringtones, I'm sure you already know you can get free ringtones and wallpapers, but how exactly do you do it?
To get free ringtones and wallpapers (without using a promo code or a special promotion), you need to either have a data cord for your phone, or get on a web browsing plan. The web browsing plans are only about $5 a month or so.
Once you have a web browsing plan on your phone, download some ringtones (kazaa, bittorrent, torrents, etc) or make your own using software. Take the ringtones and upload them to putfile.com, and then take the URL that putfile gives you, and enter that URL into your phones web browser.
After entering the URL to the ring tone or wallpaper, your phone will automatically save the ringtone after you confirm that it is okay.
The url you get will most likely be something like http://www.putfile.com/songname.midi. You must type the exact location of the ringtone in order for it to download.
Do not use those free ringtone sites you see on google as they are a rip off. Your better off just uploading your own. The first thing they ask for is your phone number, and once they have it and you agree to their terms, your theirs, and they will not hesitate to charge you a LOT of money.

Unfortunately, most people do not realize this limitation until after they have switched to a new or replacement phone.
This leaves them with that "freshly ripped off" feeling when told they will have to re-download all their ringtones & screen savers & manually transcribe the Contacts,
....but what if the old phone does not power up or display Contacts any more???
....again, that "Freshly Ripped Off" feeling.
But... it is possible to send a phone back for a repair, as opposed to exchanging it. This way you will not loose all of the content on your phone such as ringtones and what not. Just contact the phones manufacturer, and they will usually repair the phone for you. Virgin Mobile just sends returned phones back to them anyways to be refurbished.
It is possible to get a phone repaired by virgin mobile, from what I remember, but I have never handled a phone repair.
A.No, Virgin Mobile phones do not currently support file downloads from the Web. " - VM website
:( does it work for anyone?
Jim
You actually can type in URLs; they just hide it away. When you start VirginXL, hit the menu button and scroll down to the "GoTo" option, which is, I think, #6. However, this appears to be useless for ringtones; all I get is a 403 Error: Forbidden when I try to download a midi file.

there's the main link if anyone's interested.
-no ringtones at KU
AFAIK there is no Virgin Mobile support for direct downloads other than thru VXL, which requires a cash balance for WAP Daily Access fees & the cost of ringtones.
You might be able to surf directly to a URL from a URL stored in "Contacts"...but downloads are a different story.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND JAMSTER OR BLINKO.
When you download the one-time free ring tone these sites offer, you are agreeing to billed $9.99 a month EVERY MONTH.
Virgin Mobile will not refund these charges to your account.
Your only recourse would be to contact these sites, (which can difficult), to stop billing & ask for a refund from THEM...not VM.
JAMSTER and BLINKO are rip-offs.....don't do it.
The file has to be a mp3. Midi won't work. Also your phone only has one speaker... you don't need stereo no matter what you think... it's a ringtone. Stereo just adds to the file size make it mono. I used 48/22500?? I think that was it, you should see something similar in your audio editing software. So set the Mp3 ENCODER settings to MONO 48/22500??? or similar.
As for pictures, well you'll have to pay a minimal fee but it's only a quarter. Find the wallpaper you want. If it's already formatted for your phones screen. Then send an email to your phone with the picture attached. Virgin Mobiles pix address is (yourcellnumber)@vmpix.com don't forget to add the 1 to the beginning of your number. Once you receive the message, open it, select "Options" and then select "Save Picture" that's it. The pic will be saved to My Pictures on camera phones. I don't know where they will go or if you can save them on other phones. I use the Cyclops and these methods both work for me.
Ok now if you get a picture that's not the size of your phone's screen. Download "Visualizer Photo Resize" it's free and easy to use. Once installed, run it, click on browse, point to the directory where your pictures are, click on preview, select your picture, then click on "resize picture" on top, enter your phone's screen resolution (can be found on VM's website just look at your phone usually 128x128 or 128x160), click ok, right click, then select "Save Image" if you want to save over the file or "Save Image as" to keep the original and save the wallpaper as a seperate file.
Hope all that helps I'm sure you guys can figure it out from here. Sorry for making two posts I get a bit crazy with the cut and paste.
then i completely quit the "rip off"programs and i still have all my ring tones and wallpapers...
i hav a virgin kyocera marbl
Now copy & paste the TOS into EULAlyzerâ„¢ 1.2 available here : http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/eulalyzer.html
You will see that downloading from this site WILL cost you.....it will cost you your privacy and you will be advertised to.
The zedge TOS & privacy policy actually does not look too bad.
I would definitly NOT trust Mobango.
