So if your rep is hesitant to refund you, ask to speak with a team lead or supervisor. A team lead can credit up to $25 and a supervisor $50. Unfortunately, for a refund over $50, no one in the call center will be able to offer you the refund and you will need to write the corporate office.

But, if you do catch a incompetent rep, just remember you can scam an easy $10 credit from them with some blatant social engineering.

And, if you have been denied refunds in the past from Virgin Mobile and feel like they stole money from you, well... they did :-P... I've seen someone sign up for the $99.99 plan accidentally, and 5 minutes later switch to the $49.99 plan. Guess what... No refund for that.

Now go call Virgin Mobile and get your free $10, no promotional code, coupon, or promo code needed.

Call Virgin Mobile from your phone for Free

If you need to get a hold of Virgin Mobile AYS from your handset, try calling using *86, *VM, or 611 from your handset. Any of those three short codes will connect you to Virgin Mobile and you will not have any minutes (or money) deducted from your account for the call.

If you call using the 1-888-322-1122 number, your account will be billed for the call, regardless of what the At Your Service Representative may tell you.

Get free ringtones for your Virgin Mobile phone

There are two ways to get free ringtones for your virgin mobile phone. The most common method for getting free ring tones is to sign up for a web browsing plan. Then go to say Limewire and download some ringtones. Upload the ringtones to putfile and write down the URL to the file. After you upload the file, type the URL into your phone and you will be able to save the ringtone to your virgin mobile cell phone.

Or, if you really need lots and lots of long free ringers, you could get a Slider Sonic and with the data cable you could transfer over as many ringtones as you want at no cost.

Every once in awhile virgin mobile will release a free ringtone to customers that they can claim with a promo code. If you have one of these codes, just go to VirginXL / VirginXtras and choose the ringtone, enter your promo, and enjoy your no cost ringtone.

Virgin Mobile USA Sugar Mamma

Sugar Mamma is a new program by Virgin Mobile USA that allows customers to earn bonus minutes that they can use towards minutes and text messaging. There are a couple things that you need to know about the minutes/money you get from Sugarmamma.

The minutes are added to your promotional minutes. This means they can not be redeemed for a replacement phone, and if you change your service offer you can actually loose your promotional minutes.

So if your on the 18 cent a minute offer and change your plan to a monthly reoccuring charge, you will loose these additional minutes.

This may sound like a good way to get some extra minutes of air time, but the air time you earn doesn't really make it worth while.

Why watch a 30 second commercial just for a single minute of air time? If you need the airtime that bad you might as well throw your phone away.

The funniest thing about this program is I have seen accounts with 100's of sugarmomma minutes. What happens is they have all these Momma minutes and they say that a ringtone didn't download... Seeing all the bonus minutes on their account, it makes the reps not want to give any more credits and they are usually denied the credit even though they may have an honest issue.

There also is no longer a cap on the minutes you can earn with sugar mamma, and if there is, it will be gone within the next month.

Keep your time and let virgin mobile keep their airtime, it's not worth it

Get a free replacement charger from Virgin Mobile

Virgin Mobile does not stock "replacement phone chargers" nor does the manufacturers warranty cover your phones charger. BUT- If you ask nicely, you can get a free charger. Charger's normally run about 29.99 from Virgin (more than most of their phones cost!), but when you ask nicely, you may get a rep to send out a charger to you at no cost, you wont even have to pay shipping.

Kyocera (keyocera) chargers are usually the hardest to get a hold of as I had to call for 2 weeks to get a charger for an Oystr (it was out of stock), but I was able to get an Audiovox charger, US Starcom Chargers, and a Nokia charger sent out to me within a week. You gotta love how bad these chargers are, they break within 30 days in my experience.

Power Cycle (reset) your Virgin Mobile / Boost Mobile phone

Sometimes Virgin Mobile phones and Boost Mobile phones just wont work right. Maybe you can't send a text message, you cant get any service or your screen just isn't showing any bars. There's a lot of issues you could be having with your phone. There's something about cheap phones and resetting them. Scroll below for instructions on how to reset your cell phone.

If you've ever called boost mobile or virgin mobile, you've probably been told to reboot your phone. This is because it cures 90% of the problems you may be having with your cellular phone. If this doesn't fix your cell phone, you may want to try reprogramming it.

To reset your mobile phone, do the following:

Remove your battery from the phone while it is turned on

With the battery out, hold the power key for 15 seconds

Let go of the power key and reinsert your battery

Power the phone back up normally

Unlock your Virgin Mobile Phone

First of all, this is for people who have locked their phone and can not remember the unlock code. You can not "unlock" a virgin mobile phone to use with another provider, and a virgin mobile phone cannot become "unlocked".

To unlock your phone, you need to enter ##5477 and your phone will display your unlock code. It will not unlock your phone, so be sure to write down the code. You can now unlock the phone and change the unlock code.

How to program a Virgin Mobile Phone

There are many different methods for programming your phone based upon which phone you have. If not, you may need to call Virgin Mobile for your correct MSID.

Yep, your done.

Audiovox Phones (Snapper, Flasher V7, 8610, 8600, 8615, 8500, 8300, 8915)

Instructions for programming an Audiovox phone:

Turn on the phone by pressing the red phone key

Dial ##847446 (or ##Virgin... This will go away in a moment.

You should now be highlight on MSID

Press "okay"

your screen now says "MSID" at the top. Use your back key to erase any numbers on your screen.

Enter your 10 digit mobile number

Press Okay. To do so, you need to call virgin mobile or go to the virgin mobile usa website and follow the instructions.

If you do call, do not call from the phone you are trying to program or associate with your account. You will need to call from a landline. You will also be asked to give your ESN which is an 11 digit number off the back of your phone that starts with 0 and is located most often under the first barcode.

Use your grandma's money for a new phone!

A lot of old folks with pre-paid phones end up with account balances way over $150 and have no way of using the money on the phone, and will end up loosing the money. If they use their phone 1 minute a month, but are topping up every 3 months, you can now use their money for a new phone for yourself.

Starting this month, you can use your account balance to order a brand new phone or any accessories. Up until now, they only thing you could order with your account balance at Virgin was a lost or stolen replacement phone. Now you can order anything, so find all the old folks in your family who use virgin mobile, and order you and your friends some new phones.

Manufacturers warranty, not accidental damage warranty...

So a lot of pre-paid mobile company's that offer cheezy cell phones have only a manufacturers warranty and unless you purchase your phone from Best Buy, you have no way of getting your phone replaced if you accidently damage it.

These companys have these big warehouses where you are told to send your phone. The thing is, they give you your replacement phone before you return your old phone. You have to return a box with a phone in it or both phones wont work, but the truth is they really don't inspect the phones and by the time they find out that the phone was dropped in water, they don't remember whose phone it was and it's impossible to find out who sent it in.

So, if your phone is broken cause you were drunk and fell in a toilet, go ahead and send that piece of crap back after talking to a rep and telling them that the battery wont hold a charger. They won't know, and ever if they do find out, it would cost more to send you another box to send the other phone back than the phone is worth.

Cancel your service, get rewards! duh.

All company's have that department that will try to do anything to keep you from canceling your service. We've all dealt with them when we've been mad, but there's nothing like dealing with them when you really don't want to cancel your service.

At the cell phone provider I worked with, we would offer some pretty good bonuses assuming you had been with us for 6 months. If you wanted to cancel, we would offer you practically free phones (I can't say any prices), and rolling bonuses. The rolling bonuses would give you up to a $40 bonus every month you topped up for up to 6 months.

So if you have that company, and your not really liking the service, give them a call and get something back from em.

A couple weeks ago I called T-Mobile and acted like I wanted to cancel my service. My contract was going to be up in 2 weeks and I had been with them for 6 years. I also have a family plan with 4 lines. With the 2 year renewal price, the phone I wanted would have come to about $150. I talked to their cancellation department and they dropped the price to $100, and offered me free overnight shipping. I insisted on canceling and they offered me an additional $50 off the phone and an additional $50 off any phones for the other lines. So by talking to cancellations, I was able to save $100 off my phone WITH the 1 year renewal price, and an additional $150 for my other lines taken off my bill, making my phone more than free.

Get a new phone for half price!

So you have a popular mobile cell phone provider that markets itself to drug dealers and virgins. Your phone is named after a shellfish from the ocean and it really sucks. Maybe you have a phone that you bought 8 years ago to use with this provider.

And you really wany to get a new phone for cheap....

Well, starting this month, this company will be including chargers in their "Replacement Phones". Replacement phones are offered to customers who call in to report their phone lost or stolen.

For example, the most expensive phone offered is $100 and is really the only phone worth purchasing. If you call in and say your phone is lost or stolen, you can get that phone for $45 shipped to your door overnight. Although you will just get a phone and charger and no booklets, it's a lot cheaper.

If you don't need a $100 phone, just a phone your clients can call you on to score a dime bag, then you could get one of the $20 or $10 phones for $10 or $5 respectively.

The catch is you need an existing phone and account, but you can open an account and then call back in 15 minutes later and report the phone as being stolen and get the reduced price. So for a $5 phone off ebay you can get the top of the line phone for $45.

Boost mobile virgin mobile tmobile pay as you go.
